From the golden age of hobby horror to towering museum display, BloK4 proudly presents this life-sized recreation of Aurora’s iconic “The Mummy” model kit—a cornerstone of the legendary 1960s Monster Series.
Originally released as a 1/8 scale plastic kit, this character has now been transformed into a full-bodied diorama, meticulously upscaled and reimagined with rich detail and dramatic presence. Standing amid cracked sandstone ruins and toppled columns, the Mummy lurches forward in eternal unrest, one hand outstretched in a slow, ancient gesture of dread.
Every fold of his wrapped linen bandages is faithfully sculpted and distressed to replicate the classic kit’s exaggerated detailing—down to the layered textures and cartoonish charm of the original molds. His face is a masterwork of stylized mummification, balancing eerie realism with the playful, pulp-inspired aesthetic that defined Aurora's monster kits. His single eye peers menacingly through dried, cracked flesh—an undead sentinel of the tomb.
Adding to the diorama’s storytelling is the large Egyptian cobra coiled at the statue’s feet, rearing up as guardian of the tomb. Surrounding the base are broken artifacts and engraved temple stones, including the iconic “The Mummy” nameplate, directly inspired by the box art and sculpted base of the original model.
Built with foam, resin, fabric, and hand-painted in rich desert tones, this mixed media piece stands not only as a tribute to the Aurora legacy, but as a monumental celebration of classic horror fandom and model kit history—designed to stand proudly alongside BloK4’s companion Forgotten Prisoner.
